Working With Design Houses
to Bring Audio Products to Market

March 17, 2021
9:00 AM Pacific (12:00 PM Eastern)

Overview

In this new Audio Product Education Institute webinar in the Supply Chain & Sourcing series, our two supply chain and sourcing experts, David Lindberg (DB Enterprises) and Mike Klasco (Menlo Scientific) invited established design houses to discuss their role and contributions as a critical option supporting brands to bring new products to market. Hiring an experienced product development and design team can be critical to ensure that a concept turns into a robust project, ready for production. For many companies, working with an experienced company to optimize product design, engineering and manufacturing, managing quality, cost and time-to-market challenges, is an essential component to market success. The design consultants and industry experts in this session will address the specificities of their business, the challenges in operations during pandemic times, and how to bring products to market in 2021.

This webinar will help understand the role of design houses as a resource to the audio industry and manufacturers, and how these company’s expertise helps support both SMEs or large corporations in “filling in the gaps” that are missing internally in their product development resources. The session will also look at how these outsourced engineering teams can act as an extension resource for brands that have a new project that needs to reach the market quickly, a particular SKU development that needs to be added, or a project that outside the comfort zone for the in-house team. Examples of projects and case-studies with small and large enterprises will be discussed.

This event will be presented by David Lindberg (DB Enterprises) and Mike Klasco (Menlo Scientific), APEI’s Supply Chain and Sourcing Pillar Chairs. Following opening remarks, the event will feature three presentations from Mark Carrington (CEO, Cardinal Peak), Eric Voigt (Co-Founder, One Point Zero), and Donald Mac Callum, (Co-Founder, One Point Zero).
