The Audio Product Education Institute (APEI) was launched in January 2020, as an initiative of the Audio Engineering Society (AES), to focus on promoting methodologies, practices and technologies involved in developing and bringing audio products to market. In this session, Roger Shively will lead a discussion with John Whitecar (DSP Concepts), Evan Bunner (Tymphany), and Matt Marchese (Tymphany) on the evolution of automotive audio systems, technology, and implementations.
The AES Audio Product Education Institute (APEI) promotes a new Modeling and Measurement webinar exploring the latest updates to the Acoustics Module in COMSOL Multiphysics 6.0 and its possibilities for loudspeaker development. In this session, Mads J. Herring Jensen, Technology Manager, Acoustics, at COMSOL, together with Roger Shively (JJR Acoustics), and Tim Whitwell (Tectonic Audio Labs) will provide an overview and discuss the areas of improvement for speaker design.
The release of COMSOL Multiphysics 6.0 brings major updates to the Acoustics Module and the simulation of electroacoustic transducers. This includes a simplified workflow for setting up hybrid lumped-FEM models of loudspeakers, a user interface for the simulation of magnetomechanical forces in transducers, and much more. Several of the new features are the direct results of feedback collected from users within the audio industry.
